Section 01

Executive Summary

Q2 delivered £2.41m, up 18.4% on Q1 and 6% ahead of plan. Growth came from larger deals rather than more of them, which is the healthier of the two explanations — but net revenue retention slipped below 100% for the first time in five quarters.

What the board should take away

  • Average deal size rose 27% while volume was flat — the enterprise motion is working.
  • The cycle shortened by nine days after the pilot programme was standardised in May.
  • Churn concentrated in the sub-£10k cohort, which we onboarded fastest and supported least.
  • Q3 pipeline covers 2.8× the target, ahead of the 2.5× coverage we treat as safe.
03

Section 02

Objectives & Scope

This review answers three questions the board asked in April: whether the enterprise shift is producing revenue, whether it is costing us the smaller accounts, and whether Q3 can be committed with confidence.

In scope

  • All closed-won and closed-lost opportunities between 1 April and 30 June 2026.
  • Renewal and churn events across every active contract in the period.
  • Pipeline created and pipeline coverage entering Q3.

Out of scope

  • Marketing attribution, which is covered in a separate report.
  • Cost of sale and commission modelling, pending the finance close.
04

Section 03

Key Findings

Growth came from deal size, not deal count

Ninety-one deals closed in Q2 against eighty-nine in Q1, yet revenue rose by £375k. Average contract value moved from £22.9k to £29.1k as the enterprise tier accounted for 46% of bookings.

The cycle shortened where the pilot was standardised

Teams running the standardised pilot closed in 38 days on average; those that did not took 52. The difference is large enough that it is unlikely to be noise, though the sample is a single quarter.

Churn is concentrated, not general

Net retention fell to 97%. Eleven of the fourteen churn events sat in the sub-£10k cohort, all of which onboarded in under seven days and received no assigned success contact. Retention above £25k was unchanged at 104%.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths
  • Enterprise motion proven at 46% of bookings
  • Sales cycle nine days shorter than Q1
  • Retention above £25k holding at 104%
Weaknesses
  • No assigned success contact below £10k
  • Pilot standardisation adopted by only half the team
  • Forecast accuracy still ±14%
Opportunities
  • DACH growing 26% from a small base
  • Pilot rollout to the remaining teams
  • Upsell path from self serve into mid market
Threats
  • Small-account churn spreading upward
  • Enterprise concentration risk at 42%
  • Two competitors now price below self serve

Section 07

Recommendations

Five actions, ordered by the size of the problem they address rather than the ease of doing them.

  1. 1
Assign a success contact below £10k

Eleven of fourteen churn events had no named owner. A pooled contact would cost roughly one headcount.

    High
  2. 2
Roll the standardised pilot to every team

Teams using it close fourteen days faster. Adoption is the only variable we control this quarter.

    High
  3. 3
    Cap enterprise concentration at 45%

Above that, a single non-renewal moves the quarter. Set it as a planning constraint, not a target.

    Medium
  4. 4
Fund DACH ahead of the plan

Fastest growth from the smallest base; two additional reps would be repaid within three quarters.

    Medium
  5. 5
    Tighten forecast discipline

±14% accuracy is too wide to commit against. Weekly stage hygiene should close half the gap.

    Low

Section 09

Appendix

Method

Figures are drawn from the pipeline export of 1 July 2026 and reconciled against the finance ledger to within £1,200, a variance explained by two invoices raised after the period close.

Definitions

  • Net retention — revenue from accounts active at the start of the period, including expansion and churn.
  • Sales cycle — median days from qualified opportunity to closed won.
  • Coverage — open pipeline value divided by the quarter's target.

Limitations

The pilot comparison covers a single quarter and was not randomly assigned; teams opted in. The effect is large but should be treated as indicative until Q3 confirms it.
